The spinal cord is like a rope.. or road? ๐Ÿš—

The other day I had a young Practice Member come in.

I showed him this picture of the nervous system. And I said, โ€œThe spinal cord is like a ROPE.โ€

Well… he heard it as โ€œThe spinal cord is like a ROAD.โ€

And Iโ€™m glad I didnโ€™t correct him because it gets even better.

While I saw things literally, he took the analogy and flew with it. No, he soared.

Our conversation continued:

1. The spinal cord is like a highway.

2. It branches into small roads (the peripheral nerves),

3. That lead to houses (organs, tissues and cells).

So CARS (messages from the brain) travel through the HIGHWAY (spinal cord) to the ROADS (nerves) and finally to the HOUSES (organs, tissues and cells).

My job as a chiropractor is to make sure the traffic runs smoothly and there is no traffic jam.

Because we want people to get home safe and well, donโ€™t we?

And this, is why I enjoy seeing children (and families), not only do they โ€œgetโ€ the chiropractic big picture faster and are such fun to have around, BUT also because we can set them up for better success when their spines are well aligned and their nervous systems function optimally.

So they look, feel and FUNCTION better whether at work (more like at school) and at play.

Children often donโ€™t feel pain, but poor posture, or poor function (balance and coordination are the most telltale) is COMMON (given the early and frequent use of electronic devices) but NOT NORMAL.

Consider sending them to a chiropractor to get their spines and nervous system checked.

Set a solid foundation for them to build upon.

Stay aligned, and keep thriving
